Abstract

This article explores one of the new mechanisms for alternative dispute resolution, consisting of the creation of an Oversight Board at the initiative of a content platform. Self-proclaimed independent and impartial, the Board is responsible for reviewing content moderation decisions made under self-regulation. Based on an analysis of its main characteristics, procedural rules and data from its transparency reports, the article reflects on the role and the importance of the Board in the multi-door justice system.
